Prevention of Spider Veins

The lifestyle of a person has a lot to do with their overall health and well being. For example, people who smoke have a significantly bad habit that they are indulging in. Smoking can result in skin problems, and tumors, among many other things. There are other habits (especially for women) that can result in various things that are of a more cosmetic concern.

This is why women from their early twenties onward should definitely take some time out to learn about prevention of spider veins. Some people think that spider veins are only things that a person who is older has to deal with. However, the reality is that women (men can get them too, but it is far less common) can get them as early as their thirties.

It only makes sense that in order to really know what the correct prevention of spider veins is that a woman gains a better understanding of how these kinds of veins happen in the first place. There are many veins all over the body, but spider veins have a tendency to surface on the legs.

As blood circulates through the body, if one or some of the veins in the legs have extreme pressure put on them, it will make it harder for the blood to flow though them. So, the veins swell in order to allow the blood to flow through.

So, the key in prevention of spider veins is to make sure that excess pressure is not placed on the veins in the first place. As for what kinds of things causes this pressure, at the forefront is weight gain. Now, this does not mean gradual weight gain so much as it means gaining a lot of weight in a short amount of time. All of that extra weight places a lot of pressure on the heart, thus forcing the blood even faster through the body.

If a woman gains a lot of weight because of lack of exercise and proper dieting, then of course the prevention of spider veins will need to come in eating right, exercising properly, and losing that excess dangerous weight. However, if a woman is pregnant, she will have to find other ways to make sure that spider veins do not occur.

For example, when a woman is pregnant, it is important that she stay active, but it is also important that she wear the right shoes while staying active. For example, if the pregnant woman likes to take walks, it is important that she do so while wearing the proper fitness sneakers, preferably with gel soles. The better the footwear, the better the circulation in the legs. This, of course, means that heels are off limits.

While it is equally important for non pregnant women to exercise with gel soled athletic sneakers, many of them would probably guffaw at the idea of not being able to wear heels. Sure, non pregnant women can wear heels, but at the same time they should only be worn if the woman does not plan on standing or walking for long periods of time. Following these tips will definitely make all the difference in leg circulation.
